Osama bin Laden is unable to recite certain parts of the Quran

Here it is everybody, the proof for Muslims and non-Muslims alike trying to defend Muslims and Islam from RW'ers and the Christian right.

"The extremist leader (OBL) appears to have memorized several Koranic verses, and cited them selectively and incompletely, but with calm and confidence, Abou El Fadl said. In the interview, Bin Laden dismissed as inauthentic the more spiritual Islamic traditions that the highest jihad is an internal struggle to purify the heart, not a fight against unbelievers. When the interviewer presented him with opinions by Muslim jurists against killing noncombatants, Bin Laden implied that they had been co-opted by corrupt governments, Abou El Fadl said.

And when Bin Laden cited a Koranic verse about fighting infidels, he left out the part requiring Muslims to seek peace if opponents do. Abou El Fadl said that all Islamic scriptures on waging war are tempered by the command not to commit transgressions but that extremists ignore it.

"Unless you know the Koran, you will not be able to say, 'Wait a minute, where's the rest?' " Abou El Fadl said. "Bin Laden speaks in a way that if you're not already steeped in the tradition, you would not think that there was any other possible interpretation. You're talking about an aura.""

My Conclusion: OBL and Al Qaeda are Islamic, but to the same degree that the majority of the Contras were Christian. (Which is true) But, the Islamic Terrorists do not represent an average view of Islam or all Muslims.

4. Indonesian rebel

I saw a BBC interview with an Indonesian muslim fighter who met Bin Laden in Afghanistan who said he refused to speak to him because he wasn't a muslim and knew nothing about Islam.

Remember, he went to Afghanistan originally to fight for the CIA against the Soviet Union. Even if the foot soldiers didn't know what they weree doing, Bin Laden did.

I suspect that OBL is a deep cover CIA agent; that his followers, of course, have zero clue about that. OBL is the Agent Provocatuer to spur the Islamic Extremists to violence so that the Western Powers can have a cause, justifying their Military Imperialism.
