1. Me, too.
I will not let the repukes set my agenda. I was born one and intend to die one.

3. Me too.
My Mom once told me that when I was a baby I would crawl over to the TV whenever Kennedy was on and kiss the screen. I was born a Democrat, I have never voted for anyone who wasn't a Democrat and I will die a Democrat.

5. That's what they're counting on.
Our congressmen shouldn't have to actually work for the vote. It's way too scary to even think about.

8. Sorry man
I was having my blinders re-adjusted. The post just seemed rather obtuse.

That kind of blind loyalty seems to be more the hallmark of Republicans and domestic violence victims than true progressives.

Just sayin,

10. Insulting? Really!

Even in light of the parties performance over the last 5 years? You must have a higher tolerance to abuse than I do, also a different concept of loyalty.

Also be advised, there are a lot of (former?) Dem's just as disillusioned as I am on this day, Maybe even more so. Does this shock you?

again, my apologies for offending your delicate sensibilities.

On edit: I'm not entirely sure WHAT the party stands for today, do you? Frankly I think the time has arrived for a more "Direct" form of democracy, party be damned.

13. It's not us, the grassroots, thats at fault. It's our leadership. I'm a
Democrat and I'm working to change the party from the inside just like how the right wing took control of the Republican Party.

11. You might have said the same of the republicans in 1865.....
You do realize that parties change positions over time and at a certain point become something al together different from what the people who originally supported them knew them as.

So if there is no limit to how far the party can drift before you have to support something else or at least stop supporting the party you must lack a sense of personal values.

Now saying the party have not reached that point yet is a little more reasonable.

You would make a great soldier I bet.
