What I Don't Get About Free Republic
I mean, so many things, but one of their little phrases is "Join The Resistance" - I saw it on a bumper sticker of some woman at work.

Now, how can they act like they are the resistance with their guy in the White House, their party controlling both houses of Congress, being disproportionately represented in the judiciary, most state legislatures and governorships?

They are the establishment. We are the resistance.

3. I don't ever want to get them
or understand there way of thinking. Ever. But I do get tired of them proclaiming that they are some downtrodden minority when they've got the house, the senate, the supreme court, the white house, and the media.

7. I definitely get tired of that, too,
as well as their insistence that liberals run everything and that there's actually such a thing as a "liberal media", when nothing could be further from the truth.

4. Part of the "freeper" complex is a constant feeling of persecution
If they have all the political power, then they will claim that the liberal media and Hollywood are calling them ugly, ignorant and out of style, or something similar. They will claim that the government is attacking their faith. There is always some institution for the herders of this flock to declare as "under attack", and they will follow in righteous indignation all the way to the ballot box and beyond if necessary.

11. This comes from many sources
some of it is the Christian persecution complex and another part is the preception is that the Conservatives are still out of power like they were through most of last century.

8. Well, that's what I tried to explain to Ann Coulter in an email
of hers that I replied to. She was on a rant about the liberal media. I wrote her back and asked her why she was being so hard on herself. The media was owned by conservatives, her crowd, not liberals. However, logic and reason isn't big with these people.

12. It's from their Waco and Montana Freeman phases

I jest. Truth is, they know- better than DUer's do- that a lot of what they stand for is headed for social and intellectual and religious extinction. It's all an ugly begging for sympathy for being the historically obsolete side.

15. they have lost almost all of their audience
First, they purged anyone who criticized the Bush family or Israel. After they won control of the government, they lost even more of their audience. Now, take a look at their front page and the few comments they get. FR has jumped the shark, so to speak.

17. One thing I'd like to add to that thought...
Do they ever discuss the "merits" of WhatsHisFace, or are they just consumed with what the Democrats are saying/doing? I know they're full of hatred for the Democrats, but I really would feel better to know that there's something other than hatred for the more humanitarian party that drove them to vote for the idiot.

If they only knew how stupid they look to us & the rest of the world.
