No Kid Rock at Bush concert
Committee backs off plan to feature rapper after pro-family Americans express outrage

Kid Rock, the vulgar rock-rapper who initially had been lined up to headline the youth concert next week as part of the inauguration festivities for President Bush, will not be apppearing after all.

"He's not performing," a spokesman for the Presidential Inauguration Committee confirmed for WND.

I can't believe they are doing this to the Kid. After all, he is a mainstream typical republican. No morals, no class, no talent, and no taste.

1. I have to side with the fundies on this one
He really isn't the sort of "family oriented" performer expected at a rally for a pResident who has destroyed over 100,000 innocent families in Iraq.

I mean, isn't singing about oral sex much worse than simply bombing children into oblivion?

17. Lenny Bruce once said
something about his preference for having his kids watch a movie where a guy places a pillow under a woman's ass, instead of smothering her with it.

As for Kid Rock, appearing at the royal festivities seemed to put a damper on Ricky Martin's career.

He shouldn't chance it. Particularly if the draft starts anytime soon, his career is likely to suffer.

Just guessing.

My wife was a big fan of his (although I can't stand him). She'll be very disappointed...

George even shook his "bon-bon" with Ricky for a brief, but remarkable moment.

For the reasons you cited. Sigh. Maybe they can get the Nuge.

And no, he can't play guitar at all, if you have ever seen him live.

7. No, really, honestly and truly. I don't want him.
I can stand having Howard Stern on our side. At least he's OCCASIONALLY funny.

I have never seen Kid Rock do anything that wasn't completely awful. I can't even stand to look at his ugly mug.

11. I know. I was kidding.
I think it'd suck if he were to turn against the GOP, cuz then I wouldn't be able to smirk and say, "boy, I hate it when entertainers get political...." in reference to Kid Rock whenever a freeper-type gets into a discussion with me.

But the Pitt/Aniston thing; that was completely sincere.

39. I don't think the honoree has a say in who pays tribute in KC Honors
Besides, I've noticed that most performers are able to put the politics aside when it comes to working with or honoring their own.

John Cougar Mellencamp and Travis Tritt

Sean Penn and Tim Robbins with Clint Eastwood

Just to name a few recent examples of people on different ends of the spectrum who voluntarily managed to work together.

I've always hated Kid Rock. I never knew he was a repuke until this week.

And if Milli Vanilli were democrats, I wouldn't be jumping to their defense - and they were still better than Kid Rock and his filthy sideshow.

29. Sadly, he's quite talented.
I hate his music, and I hate his politics even more, but the man knows how to play his instrument(s). On his albums, he is the only muscian playing, he has a band with him for the tour only. He's quite talented, but, his music sucks.

But you can't judge someone by talent based on a few songs they've written. Just because I like to play punk rock doesn't mean that I'm limited to only playing that.

26. pro-family means they demand that you to have one
and that it matches their specific criteria of what a family is.

If you think the family should be able to earn a living wage and should have basic health care, then yes, you are anti-family.

36. I wonder if they finally heard his lyrics about pimping Barbara Bush?
The idea of Kid Rock's performing shows the same kind of desperation to appeal to the "younger generation" that was revealed in the Bush twins embarrassing display at the Republican Convention.
