You'll notice a strange gap in Dr. King's career.

You'll see Selma, and the March on Washington, with the "I Have A Dream" speech.

And then -- nothing, until "the shots rang out/In the Memphis sky..."

Um, what might Dr. King have been doing in the intervening five years? Protesting against an illegal, immoral, imperialist U.S. war, perhaps?? Can't have that, can we, 'specially not now while we're in the thick and din of yet another one, huh?

MLK Day coverage has always been skimpy on the antiwar Dr. King. I fully expect it to get skimpier and skimpier 'til it resembles a "wardrobe malfunction"...

Edit: speling

2. and he was shot when planning a Poor Peoples' March
on Washington, D.C. Not "black" -- but "poor." That kind of civil rights movement was too much for the elites, hence, the always-convenient "lone nut."

One of the few heroes of mine that I have no reservations about is Dr. King, an inspiration for us all.
