Committe for the Liberation of Iraq (CLI) - a PNAC spinoff Org!
Looks like the PNAC is mutating.

Check out this site: www.liberationiraq.org

You will see many PNACers with this new DC non-profit org.

I have read the DU boards for a long time, but I never saw this brought up with discussions re the PNAC.

I think it was created in 2002.

Interesting group of people, esp on the Advisory and Int'l Advisory Committees.

Namely: George Schultz is the Honorary Chair

Senators Lieberman and John McCain are the co-chairs of the Advisory Committee.

The rest of the advisory comm are your standard PNACers but there are additional people who, given their roles in various eastern europe parliaments and the UK Parliament that the PICTURE of the PNAC strategy becomes clear:

(1) Get control of the Middle East via Iraq (and finding a way to subvert Palestine). Omar Karsou is on the committee. (I will bet anyone that the USA demands that Karsou replace Abbas.)

(2) Get an westward advance on the former Soviet Union by gaining political and military control of the Balkans.

(no wonder they hated Clinton so much; he messed up everything! Who was the most outspoken alleged dem in re to Clinton and Bosnia? LIEBERMAN.)

There are a lot of NATO people on this committee. A LOT. Makes me wonder about why Clark is potentially running for pres. Could it be that Rove actually figured out a way to get the neo-con agenda in place no matter WHO we vote for? And is Clark not announcing until they are sure which dem has the best chance of winning? Slowly but surely, Clark is orientating himself toward Dean as Dean's numbers go up. The DLC has issued a "no bash" rule for Dean.

This is not a candidate bashing thread. But with the PNAC and NATO folks all cozy on this new DC "think tank" -- and the unexpected emergence of a NATO man for prez at a time when things look bad for the chosen one (Bush), how can we not be on guard for a potential "kinder, gentler" neo-con?

4. So I must have missed the whole thing....
It is an interesting collection of people.

One guy on the international advisory comm is a guy who just 2 years ago was a Latvian reporter working out of Brussels. HE is now in the Latvian Parliament.

A UK parliamentarian (Winterbourne?) was appointed by the WHO to serve the humanitarian aid to Iraq and Afghanistan.

The people involved in this PNAC spin-off group are rising in the ranks of many an organization or governmental structure.

Watch for Omar Karsou's name to come up very soon.

6. Bingo for which part?
I hope some day that people like us will be on the inside instead of being on the outside trying to figure out what the bad guys are up to. We are good at it. But it is getting very tedious.

Ojala que la gente gana!

12. PNAC spinoff is right
CLI Officers

Chairman of the Board Bruce P. Jackson

Executive Director Randy Scheunemann

Treasurer Julie Finley

Secretary Gary Schmitt

(Jackson, Scheunemann and Schmitt all signed the PNAC Statements on Iraq)

Advisors include PNAC'ers Dr. Eliot Cohen, Robert Kagan, Peter Galbraith, William Kristol, Will Marshall, Josh Muravchik, Richard Perle, Danielle Pletka and James Woolsey. All were part of a select few who put their names to one or more PNAC statements. Will Marshall is the policy director of the DLC.

A cabal by any other name . . .
