Bush pattern of getting away with it may come to an end
He got away with deserting his military unit. He got away with corporate crime while at Harken. He got away with getting an underage girl pregnant in Texas. And he thinks lying to the American people during the SOTUA is no big deal. He knows someone may suffer because he lied, but thats the breaks. He cares nought about whomever may suffer. However, this time may be different and the man who has led a charmed life may have gotten away with "it" one too many times. If he is held responsible expect a turn to chemicals or a complete breakdown. Responsibility is something he has never had to deal with.

The law of averages says that * is just about toast. I think this will be the one to sink his drunken ass.

2. I'm afraid the media will drop it
as it has in the past, and the a-hole will get away with yet another crime. The general public just does'nt care enough to stand up and have their voices heard. WAKE UP AMERICA, time to take notice!!

6. The media tenacity in this has been amazing.
I don't know why, but they have really stayed on this. Maybe they are getting as scared of this WH as the rest of us. The WH defense that Tenet gave Bush permission to lie is fatal. It raises two questions. Who is in charge? Where is personal responsibility?

3. I AGREE WITH YOU BOSSHOG
unlike all of his other escapades, this one got a little attention from the media. It's really what was needed. I've noticed that Dubya is completely incapable of taking responsibility for ANYTHING, probably because, like you say, he's has never in his entire life HAD to deal with responsibility. He's like a spoiled child. When the sh** really hits the fan, he'll break down. And I'm willing to bet people are getting tired of taking the blame for him.

4. The people in the media have GOT to be wondering
how to get away from the albatross they tied themselves to. It was all about money, no doubt, but they must be wondering now if the hubris is going to explode in their faces over the next year. How can Rove keep him up when all they have to sell is the war/9-11 thing and the war is a quagmire and people start seeing how incompetent Bush was about the 9-11 intelligence?

The media is all that is propping him up and they have got to be wondering if the Top Gun thing and planning the Republican Convention in New York were gigantic over-reaches. Also, what about Bush having to debate the Democratic nominee? He will either have to hide from it like a coward, have debates with obvious baby rules or get shown for the incompetent ass that he is. Won't the Democratic nominee just hammer him on his incompetence?

9. Irresponsible

It's amazing that we have an individual sitting in the Whitehouse, ostensibly the leader of the free world and that person has never in his life accomplished anything by his own endeavor. All his successes in life were due to who he was, or more accurately who his father was. When those successes were partner in a baseball team or even governor of Texas, I really couldn't give a s**t, but when his fathers friends appointed him pResident we all lost a large part of our democracy. That loss is as damaging to Republicans as to Democrats even though many of them, at this point, feel the end justified the mean.
