They hit DICK's car with snowballs! >>>

A snowball melts on the side of a limousine as Vice President Richard Cheney waves during the inaugural parade in Washington, January 20, 2005. Flag-draped coffins and anti-war chants competed with pomp and circumstance on Thursday at the inauguration of President George W. Bush (news - web sites) along the snow-dusted, barricaded streets of central Washington. REUTERS/Tim Shaffer

10. Did they gun down the freedom fighter that threw it?
That actually took some courage to do in that paranoid environment.

12. Snowballs
I arrived downtown somewhat early Thursday morning, such that there was no line at the "security" checkpoint. I milled about and ended up in Pershing Park, which borders Pennsylvania Ave & 15th St NW. The park has mesh-wire seats atop a small hill that overlooks Pennsylvania Ave. There were a handful of people sitting around the snow-covered hill. Kids built small snowmen. The nearest "security" checkpoint was devoid of crowds/lines; meanwhile, two blocks away, people stood in a two-block long line to get through another checkpoint...

Eventually, text messages were sent about telling people to come to the Pershing "security" checkpoint, and watch from Pershing Park. As more people assembled there (protestors and supporters, mind you), the cops got a little edgy. I asked a cop from where on the hill we could watch the procession, and he replied, "Just stay here for now." Thirty minutes later, they deployed a Park Police division and cleared off everyone from the hill. Park Police were walking around the hillside looking for something, I presume snowballs or projectiles, as stomped all around looking down at their feet...

And so they closed what would have been a great vantagepoint to spectate, and they crowded everyone to the sidewalk.
