f2f report from inauguration: D.C. |
|
At the 7th St and D St entrance (one of only two in order to enter the Pennsylvania Avenue area in order to not only view the parade but be with other protesters) I stood in line for 2.5 hours, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
The Secret Service had FOUR 'pass through' scanners, such as you see at the airport, for thousands of people.
A newspaper man from Midland Tx advised me that the Senate has an INauguration Committee.
Many people were turned away from this entrance or 'check point' after waiting for hours when a riot broke out and police were quickly called.
MSNBC in D.C. reported at approx 5 p.m. that there had been 'no problems with people getting into the parade' , simply citing that the cold weather had turned people away.
The presence of police inside the 'compound' was extreme.

The good news is that most of those who did get in were protesters, and they were LOUD. Looked/sounded excellent on TV!
