today's NYT interview with Mrs. B.: "Mrs. Bush said she intended to continue her efforts to promote books and reading"
so far, so good: she stopped a poetry event at the White House because some poets were (gasp) anti-war. Salinas, CA, libraries are closing for half the year and in Philadelphia they're cutting hours.

they are really really good! Never mentions the plot or anything else about them. I suspect she uses some cheater paper so she can comment on them.
I live ten miles away from a small library but one which at least has more than the one in my little town. I support the little library, but often need to go to the larger which is not really large.
They are charging forty dollars for people outside of that town to have a card.
