Mad. Angry. And disgusted with myself. |
|
So, I just finished watching the Daily Show with Sy Hersh and the thought of another war, on Iran, is literally breaking my heart.
The utter transparency, not to say illegitmacy, of this administration's motives is crushing me. My wife works with a lovely man, Hamid, from Iran. He's a genetics researcher, a gentle soul, a man who loves much about the U.S. but resents - as perhaps we all do - its excesses. He is very critical of Iran and he wishes that, there, the U.S. would be seen as something other than Muslim haters.
He'll have to go back soon - visa issues, isn't it always visa issues? And I can't stand to think of good people like him getting caught up in another imperialist neo con hack job of a war.
And then I get so mad at myself for not continuing to care about Iraq as much as I should. Sure I protested when it started - but where have I been? The lives of people just as good have been ended or destroyed. Families.
I hate those that would inflict this on others. I will resist further conflict in the Mid-East with every fiber of my being. I hate those, foreign and domestic, that continue to prey upon the lives and hopes of peace-loving Iraqis. May they all get what they deserve.

2. Don't be disgusted with yourself. |

I've done even less than you have, and I feel the same way you do.
It's sick and it makes me want to scream and cry. Because we can protest, and send care packages, and try to do what we can, but ultimately, we can't stop it, we can't stop these maniacs of the Bush cabal from invading everyone and their neighbor. I feel helpless, and that's the worst feeling of all, at least for me.
All those innocent people, men and women and children, and their blood is on my hands as an American. And I hate it, and it makes me physically sick to my stomach.
I don't know about you, but I feel that my hands are tied. I feel helpless and embarrassed that I can't let the rest of the world know that I loathe the Bush Empire. The only thing I can do is pray to whatever supernatural force is (hopefully) out there, that these racist, arrogant fools reap what they so.
Please don't feel too bad about yourself. We're all confused, and angry, and frustrated, and our options are limited in times like this.

A friend of mine is a Palestinean man--and I have been in great fear that he would be sent back to his country because of the great paranoia--that so many people seem to feel towards him.
I am keeping my fingers crossed though--my friend may have found a loophole, his wife (he came here with a wife and two children) just had another baby--(born in the USA!!!!). I think that there is a way he can use the law to his advantage and stay here now.
I am so relieved! There is no life for him over there--too much violence. But I fear for him even here--because the Americans (who should be more enlightened) scrutinize him like he is a criminal.
I have travelled all over the world and in my opinion the Arab people are the most friend and generous people that I have ever come across. I feel that if our country would treat them as friends and neighbors--we would not have any problems with them. It makes me so sad that we are killing innocent Arab children.

9. "The People" elected Bush. They don't care. |
|
Hell, they --the Bush mafia-- don't even have to drudge up lies in respect to Iran having WMD, or how evil their nations leader is, or how they're instrumental in global terrorism (no "Nine-One-One" here!), or how those 'poor downtrodden Iranians, yearning to be free' downright DESERVE the "sacrifice" of the lives of our American soldiers because it is an absolute moral right
Hell no. They don't even TRY to cover their evil agenda now.
It's just Let's go attack them next because we said so, and if you question why you're a Terrorist too!
Welcome to the ruination of America. By "A Mandate" of 51% no less sadly
Oh and Hey! Let's 'not take nuke's off the table' Why? Because they are barking MAD! HOW they think they can use nuclear weapons (WMD Indeed!) and the rest of the world won't use it back against them --against US!-- calls for the simple diagnosis of Insanity.
With this group in charge, we're toast, rather, the shadow of once-toast on a slab of concrete.
But Hey! At least them damn GAYS won't be able to marry! What's IMPORTANT here?
