Just spreading the word...
Heard on the Mike Malloy show <Air America Radio> last night that there is a 'Roses for Barbara Boxer' movement. Each person that wishes to send Barbara Boxer <3> roses for Valentines day can call the number I will list below. This is the 'designated' number for placing your order. You can go the website also, but can't do the order from the website. You MUST make the phone call. It will cost you $10 for 3 roses. The woman in charge of this idea will handle the delivery charge and make sure the roses are delivered as per the agreement. If you are interested in joining this effort to flood her office with roses, here is the number and name of the florist.

2. I would love to participate, but I'd like to know if the florist is going |
|
to donate some of the $10 to a worthy cause. $10 is awfully steep for 3 roses and I can't help but smell an oportunistic florist hoping to make some big bucks off of this. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

7. $10 is not steep for delivered roses around Valentines |
|
in fact, I don't think you can get anything delivered for $10 and the price of roses skyrockets in Feburary.

12. It's very steep for 3 roses. They fall in price around here on Valentine's |

Day. My mother in law used to work for a florist. I guess to each his own, but it's very expensive is money isn't going to support some humanitarian effort. Just my opinion.

I am sorry, but I don't have a lot of further information on this. You can go to "MikeMalloy.com" and read about it there, if you like. What I did see on the website is that once you call the number, you will press #1 to order and #2 will put you in touch with someone to give you more info. You might try that. Hope it helps:)

3. Doesn't she have a PAC now? |
|
Wouldn't it be a lot more constructive to donate the $10 to that?

My thinking is like this..
I would much prefer to see a huge truck or 'trucks' drive up to the Senate building on delivery day...and an army of florist delivery drivers walk up to the steps and flood the entire lobby with roses. This is a 'visual' that I think might deliver more than roses to Senator Boxer. It might deliver a message to those on-lookers (for the attention it draws) that we 'noticed' that someone actually stepped up!...and we appreciate it! These are my thoughts.

That the media will not show.
If I were her, I'd appreciate donations that can be put to a political use far more.

10. I agree. Its making a statement. I will send the roses for 10 and 20 to |
|
her PAC. I think its high time we start showing real support to the ones standing up and abandon those who are not. I'm not in Cali, but the congressmen and senators where I do live will get nothing from me if they don't start showing they have what it takes to stand up lke Boxer.
