Made my 1000th post today already (yay!) & now want to discuss Iraq voting |

Besides the horrible reality that violence has been escalating this week, does anybody else just cringe when they hear about voter intimidation there, since it has happened here too (admittedly, on a lesser scale)?
Among so many other things, the hypocrisy of this administration in caring more about democracy there than in the U.S. isn't just glaring, it's embarassingly gaudy. Oh yeah, I forgot - as any good republican will tell you, we don't have a democracy here. So I guess that lets them off the hook in this country.
All that said, and even though I don't think these elections will go anything like they should, I hope that nothing more adversely negative will result in them having taken place - after all this bloodshed.
It's just hard to hear all the hype about it from Washington and the MSM when those same people are selling it down the toilet for anybody not buying the BS from the GOP.

I'm green, but I've been reading for awhile. This is a good site to read other people's thoughts about the things that most people (not me)don't want to discuss. The election sounds really difficult. Can you imagine? I'm running, but I can't tell you my name, because I may get killed! I wonder if it is rigged already.

If I were a betting person, I'd say the odds are that it's probably rigged - considering the track record of those in charge over here. Good luck to you and please be careful.
