Bush is sticking it to America... |
|
Not just Democrats but Republicans also. And he is laughing about just how stupid and naive we are as a people. Just months after requesting $79 billion for Iraq, he comes back to ask for $89 billion more. He knows how difficult it is for politicians to vote against money for war and he is doing it for purely political reasons. And he is using it against them, because if they turn him down, he can say they "lost" the war by not supporting his unbelievable request. If they give him what he is asking for, then his oil buddies get exactly what they want. He wins either way. He is playing the people for fools and, due mostly to the present partisan atmosphere, his absurdity is equated with statesmanship.

1. Bush is not stupid; he is cunning |

he has an innate instinct for getting by politically. You can say it's Rove, but ultimately I think it's Bush.

It makes you wonder how democracy can ever function when the electorate is so gullible.
