„Clinton lied“ – How does US Media portray Bush? |
|
Some days ago I read an Op-Ed in a German newspaper dealing with Blair. It was stated that his credibility had suffered in the Kelly affair. This was compared to – Clinton! Because he had disappointed the Americans as a trickster concerning Lewinsky. I was really shocked by this comparison. So this distinguished newspaper (Sueddeutsche Zeitung) thinks Bush is an honest man???
How does the US press portray Bush? On the whole as an honest President, even though perhaps Mrs. Rice might have made a mistake with the Uranium claim? As a President who has perhaps exaggerated the Iraq threat a little bit, but who really only wants to fight terrorism?
Clinton was insincere about his personal sex life – Bush, however, about a war (or two wars, Patriot Act…). Clinton had to fear impeachment.
Did the US media ever consider impeachment of Bush, e.g. because the Uranium claim was false (neatly proven by Henry A. Waxman in his letter to Rice, cf. his web site) ?

1. The American media is a joke when it comes to Bush |
|
He has schmoozed them all and given them pet names and they all fall in line like little puppies....He has lied or misled SO MANY TIMES and yet they still keep refering to him as the straight talking, honest guy "the people trust." Those who trust him, do so because the media feeds the myth of his so-called honesty. It's disgusting!!!

2. I agree - our "not controlled by the RW" media just acts like they are! |
|
These are very intelligent folks on the 3 Broadcast Network News staffs - so they must know they are acting like media whores. One wonders how one sleeps if you have an ounce of ethics.
To ignore Bush lies and/or misleading statements SO MANY TIMES, always searching for a word that can replace "lie" when reporting the proof that they were lies, and to still keep refering to him as the straight talking, honest guy "the people trust" so as to convey the spin of Bush honesty is to invite contempt from those not whoring for the GOP, since they, the US Media, are showing contempt for all those not on Rove's dialer rolodex.

3. Can you imagine if.... |
|
Clinton lied about the evidence for going to war in Iraw and hundreds of our soldiers died because of it? Can you imagine if Clinton went to war in Iraw so that his friends could profit from such a awar? Can you imagine if Clinton destroyed the economy so that his goof friends could get huge tax cuts? Can you imagine if Clinton let his good friends write the energy policy for our country? Can you imagine if Clinton did not go after Ken Lay of Enron? Can you imagine if Clinton was out on notice of a 911 attack and did nothing except tell his cabinet not to fly in commercial planes for awhile? Can you imagine if Clinton lied after 911 about the air quality in New York City and now there are many people sick because of it? Can you imagine if Clinton had a background of Dessertion, cocaine use, 2 arrests, insider trading, etc...? (Believe me i could go on but what is the point?)
ANYWAY......WE WOULD BE IN A SERIOUS CONSTITUTIONAL CRISIS RIGHT NOW WITH IMPEACHMENT HEARINGS ALL OVER THE PLACE AND SPECIAL PROSECUTOR AFTER SPECIAL PROSECUTOR LINED UP AND READY TO GO! The media would be all over this, non stop! My goodness, Tweeety and FOX would be having multiple orgasims over all of this........

4. Yes, I can belief that... But why is that so? |
|
Is it simply that the corporate media owners do not want to disturb business and status quo?

5. The media would like to annoint him as the Saviour |
|
It is pathetic and disgusting and revolting and it happens because the media is owned by a handful of RW idiots who tell the talking heads what to say and the talking heads are not journalists, but are paid whores who shill for the administration.

8. Interestingly, German Media behave similarly, |
|
even though the ownership structure is not quite the same as in US.

7. The media calls Bush's lies, poor judgment calls or errors |
|
The media whores are afraid to call him what he really is. They won't get paid if they speak the truth. The spinnning makes me so dizzy.
