3. What Else Do They Have? |
|
He was Bunnypant's personal lawyer...should we highlight the work he did in those years? Ooops
He oversaw the "rules" at Gitmo and Abu Grahib...do we want to look at that work? Ooops.
He's Hispanic and ate snails as a poor child shat upon by the racist Democrats in the People's Republic Of Texas...overcame that great handicap to become a hand-servant for the Repugnicans (who, BTW are the same racist Democrats, they switched parties). In wingnut world, that's called Afirmative Action </sarcasm off???>

5. Request to CSPAN regulars |
|
I am seeking to form a core of people who are either regular CSPAN Journal watchers/callers or who have a specific skill, such as biography research or fact checking. The objective is to proactively counter the freepers who are guest or who call in. Please read http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=106x14629

The Senators (Specter and Hatch) that spoke blah, blah, blah both mentioned how "wonderful it is for a Hispanic man" to be nominated for this position. I also have Hispanic heritage and I am getting sick and tired of hearing Senators ooh and aah over minorities as if it is a miracle that a Hispanic or any other minority could accomplish something so great!
Growing up poor and minority does not automatically make you an honest, noble person! They just dance around the issue instead of looking at the substance. I personally think that gonzalez is being used as a token just like rice. They are two yes people that will go along with and defend anything that bush thinks up.
I am embarrassed that gonzales is Hispanic. I have a personal friend who is a judge in California and also Hispanic that would make a lot better AG than gonzalez and he would make the Hispanic community proud as well. I would love to hear what Maxine Waters thinks of rice, I bet it isn't all sweetness and light.

8. yes, it's really patronizing |
|
I know many, many hispanics who are successful, well-educated professionals. They act as though it's shocking to find a member of the hispanic community who's qualified for a top-level job, and for this reason we just have to snap up this jewel. It's really demeaning to the hispanic community, when you think about it.

9. thank you, exactly my point :) |

and not only is this the "only" qualified hispanic in the country to reach this "pinnacle" we should all be dancing in the streets because this is a landmark day for us? Give me a break! They aren't lying when they say it is a landmark day, I would never have in my wildest dreams believed that a hispanic lawyer would basically give the go ahead to GOP thugs to abuse his own people, especially on the CA/Mexico border as well as Texas and any other states in the southwest. It is really a new low for the GOP, but like I have said many times, each time I have thought they have sunk as low as they can go, they find a way to somehow sink deeper, they really are trailblazers!
