Edited on Thu Feb-03-05 07:54 AM by bush still has to go
They interviewed people on the street about *'s speech...one guy said several times that it (the "hug") looked like a staged stunt for * (the guy said he was independant, BTW).

I feel sorry for these families who have paid the ultimate price for Halliburton.

4. I'm sure there are many other parents who lost sons and daughters
who are even more FURIOUS than we are that these people were propped up there to "represent" them!!! I am so furious I can't imagine what they must be feeling. If I'd lost a child and then saw that scene played out for political points for King George, I'd go absolutely nuts.

9. I think
thats the only way these people can cope with the loss of their of their loved ones. You would have to think that they died for something that matters to their Country. It would be much worse to think they died in vain.

11. yes,
otherwise the reality would be too much to bear. It doesn't matter that there was an election. This whole idea of the greater good being served completely negates the "culture of life" ethos. Either each individual life is sacred or it isn't. You can't value an idea over a human life. Without humans to enjoy the idea of "freedom", there is no one to be free in the first place. It's akin to destroying the village to save it, literally. It's absurd on its face.

10. Who was that over made-up woman hugging her
She turned to Laura Bush with an expression on her face that seemed really, I don't know, really, like, "it sure felt good to pay lip service to that tragedy, now lets get back to ignoring her."

18. I don't know if she was stupid or not.
She's probably still in a state of shock however.
She'll be in further shock when the bushie and all his little freepies gathers her up and tosses her out like yesterday's toilet paper. That might wake her up that her kid died for oil.
