yesterday Duncan Hunter said to Lou Dobbs, referring to the stretched

to breaking military:

"americans don't break"

I wish he hadn't said that.

it's like saying bring it on. or like saying never.

4. Actually, he's one of the few Congress members with a kid in Iraq.
But it was still a really stupid comment for him to make. Imagine being the parent of a soldier who died over there, and having to hear that. I'd probably throw my television through a window.

6. I didn't know that.
I agree, he shouldn't have made such an arrogant comment. America can and will break if we don't change courses.

My heart breaks for all the families that have died in this war, it keeps me awake at night.

3. Isn't Hunter widely regarded as the dumbest person on the Hill?
I have read that inference a couple of times.

I remember when he was on Meet The Press with Kucinich and they actually had found ONE round that might have had WMD at one point. Hunter help up the picture and spewed his talking points that he thought were a slam dunk and DK picked up the picture and said "THIS is why we went to war? THIS? This ONE round?" Hunter looked across the desk at Russert......cricket chirp........Russert changed the subject.
