Anyone listening to Al Franken right now...
God, he needs to get rid of his "songsmith"...absolutely HORRIBLE - the guy is some hacky home-taper who sent in a song once and now they have his "songs" all the time...

There is about 40% of Franken's show that makes me cringe.

1. I agree... Franken is really hard to listen to today.
He really is not good on radio. Actually, I think his best shows have been on the road. Go figure.

2. It's supposed to be funny, for God's sake.
And he's on every few months...not all the time.

5. I don't think it's supposed to be funny...
Is Franken making fun of it? Is anyone laughing? Is the song humorous?

Nope, it's some hack kissing Al's ass with his terrible 4track recorder.

12. I agree, it's kinda funny... (and Randi comparison)
They have 3 hours to fill, afterall.

How does he measure up in ratings to Randi, though? He's the headliner, but I think Randi is much better as far as substance goes. Mabye Al's more entertaining... Nothing else on Air America has really impressed me, except how much Ed Schultz sounds like Rush.

6. It's horrible........
.....sadly Al has fallen into the "radio guy" habit of getting someone to kiss his ass by making stupid songs about him and the show.

9. Al's "humor" is painfully juvenile, outdated and unsophisticated.
It's like a pale imitation of Mel Brooks mixed with Woody Allen, circa 1974.

And "Oy oy oy" was never funny. Yes, we get the yiddish thing. No, it's not funny. Sorry.

17. Malloy's not even a comedian and his dark humor makes me laugh more.
Edited on Thu Feb-03-05 02:08 PM by UdoKier
I don't go for the toilet humor - maybe you do and that's why you brought it up?

By the way, I believe it was Al who came up with the groan-inducing skit about the "loose-boweled leprechaun" Oh yeah - hilarious.

11. Al gets good guests
He should talk for the first hour and do guests the second and third hours. It would be a good show.

He should dump Mark the dittohead and the Oy, oy, oy show.

A skit just every once in a while would be fine. I loved the "Mastication Theater".

16. I love the guests the most because he gets big names and interesting
people.

I actually like some of the theme songs for the regulars.

20. I'm just happy I can listen to him in LA now
without the internet. Only problem is that Randi is going to be on delay --3-7 as the drive time show--and I don't see Malloy on the schedule. But it's great to have AAR in Los Angeles again, and on a station with reasonable power.

There is alot of posts about Repukes eating their own. Bashing AAR is an example of Dems doing the same thing. :eyes:
