Anti-war Mom of dead G.I. bumped from Larry King for Michael Jackson Trial
Glad to see the MSM covering what's really important

Not Worth My Son's Sacrifice

I was supposed to be on the Larry King Live show Monday night. I was asked to be on the show to offer my opinion on the election in Iraq from the perspective of a mom whose son was killed in the war prior to the elections. One of the questions I was going to be asked was: Do I think my son's sacrifice was "worth it?" Well, I didn't get a chance to be on the show last night, because I was bumped for something that is really important: The Michael Jackson Trial.
If I was allowed to go on Larry King Live last night and give my opinion about the elections and about my son's sacrifice, this is what I would have told Mr. King and his viewers:

My son, Spc. Casey Austin Sheehan (KIA, Sadr City, 04/04/04) enlisted in the Army to protect America and give something back to our country. He didn't enlist to be used and misused by a reckless Commander-in-Chief who sent his troops to preemptively attack and occupy a country that was no imminent threat (or any threat) to our country. Casey was sent to die in a war that was based on the imagination of some Neo-Cons who love to fill our lives with fear.

Casey didn't agree with the "Mission" but being the courageous and honorable man that he was he knew he had to go to this mistake of a war to support his buddies. Casey also wondered aloud many times why precious troops and resources were being diverted from the real war on terror.

1. Larry King is another insufferable piece of media vile

Michael Jackson is supposed to be more of a ratings winner. I'm already sick of it.

3. Larry King always backs down for the Bushes. When Christopher Reeves died
it was expected that he would have a remembrance show the next night. Out of the blue, Laura Bush was suddenly available for the hour and was booked on the show to get out her anti-stemcell research and campaign message out front.

The corporate media will ALWAYS work for fascism not the citizens.

4. CNN-even the lightweight King
wouldn't allow this anti-WAR viewpoint. Let me know when Bill Maher comes back-I may watch that, maybe. Though that would violate my no CNN ever policy, so I'll have to think about it.

I turned off the Daily Show last night when Mr. Mole came on. And he's the least of the worse.

5. It really makes you think this is what celebrity trials are for
Perverse side show distractions from things that matter. One more reason to hate MJ (as if I needed one).

Disgusting.

6. I know one of King's assistants. I could send her an e-mail.
Not that she made the decision or anything, but she might have some more information as to why CNN made this error in judgement.
