"MURDERER RICE, GET OUT OF OUR COUNTRY!"
Edited on Sat Feb-05-05 01:12 PM by Bluebear

Turkish demonstrators shout slogans as they hold banners outside the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, Turkey, on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, during a protest hours before the arrival of U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. The banners read: 'Down with American imperialism' , left, and 'Murderer Rice, get out of our country', right.

Banner reads: KILLER RICE

2. Those signs should be in English if they expect to be on our TVs
Otherwise the slack-jawed legions of television viewers will only avert their glazed stares in search of something about Michael Jackson.

9. LOL that's funny.
They probably will! And they'll secretly thank you for the ingenious suggestion. Good call.

I scrolled back up and looked at the photos of the Turks. Notice the nice signs. They are even bordered with black, very carefully made. Not just some chicken scratching with a felt tip pen on cardboard.

Notice the passion. These are young people, a nation's biggest asset. These people have many years ahead of them, to nurture and fan the flames of hatred against the US. When it's time for them to take the reins, they'll remember this day.

6. Turks don't speak English, they speak Turkish.....
If you were protesting a foreign official, would you put your protest signs in another language other than your own? I don't think so. They are not trying to get onto American television, they are protesting a war criminal.

12. CNN has the protest as "small", attended by "leftists"
'Protesters held a number of small demonstrations criticizing Rice and U.S. policy in Iraq throughout the country Saturday, including one attended by dozens of leftists outside the U.S. Embassy in Ankara.'

17. My pals in Canada and Europe ask me...
"Don't you people ever demonstrate?" They saw the big one during the RNC but outside of that, either we don't or it doesn't get covered!

18. If there was a protest like that in the US...
...the protesters would be beaten, clubbed, Maced, Tasered, shot with less-lethal rubber bullets, and jailed.
