Rumsfield seems to have lost his marbles. Why did they bother |
|
to put him on Sunday morning? He doesn't remember anything he's quoted before. Says no one had any idea the insurgency would be that big(I predicted that. I think at least 90% of the people here did too).
He sure fits in with the blundering administration.

2. WOW! This is the guy running our war? |
|
He is a piece of work.
Even Lil' Timmy on "Safe-mode" couldn't provide a platform where Rummy looked good. I did enjoy Rummy taking it right to Lil' Timmy over the soldier's question about armor a few months ago. I wish the Dem guests would start calling Lil Timmy out when he does his patented "video" clip ambush.

3. Remember this when he tries to claim senility during a war crimes tribunal |
|
He knows his number is coming up fast... he cannot travel to Germany now.

7. If he's senile and can't be held accountable |
|
then the person who keeps him in office should be. Didn't it come out in the past week or so that Rumsfeld tried to resign twice during the Abu Graib scandal and Bush wouldn't let him?
This house of cards may fall yet.

4. Every one of these lying war criminals should be in handcuffs right now. |
|
He damn well remembers what he said and he damn well knew the insurgency would be this big. Bottom line - if he says he "can't remember" and he "didn't know" then his ass should be fired right now for gross incompetence.
Half the American people who voted for this crooked bunch are so GD stupid that they will swallow anything that get shoved down their throats. Morans.

5. "Nobody could have predicted it. Oh, you did? Why didn't you warn me?" |

"Why didn't you send millions of people into the streets to protest? You did? Well, the liberal media and the pinko pundits...them too? The intelligence...State department...Europe? Well, nobody IMPORTANT knew this would happen. That's what I meant. Nobody at Halliburton, specifically. "

8. I don't think Rumsfeld had any marbles to begin with! |

"I would not say that the future is necessarily less predictable than the past. I think the past was not predictable when it started."
"We do know of certain knowledge that he is either in Afghanistan, or in some other country, or dead."
"Death has a tendency to encourage a depressing view of war."

"The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence." -on Iraq's weapons of mass destruction
"Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know"
said all these things. No one else in the world could make this shit up!

This partial quote from Rumsfeld is more revealing than it might at first appear; "because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know" In the full quote, Rumsfield listed 3 types of knowledge; 1. Unknown unknowns; things we don't know that we don't know, i.e. the unpredictable, I would assume the strength of the insurgency is one of these. 2. Known unknowns; things we known we don't know; like the location of Osama Bin Laden. 3. Known knowns; things we know we know - like the location of WMD's were supposed to have been. But most revealing is that he seems to be utterly unaware of the 4th and most important category of knowledge; 4. Unknown knowns; things we don't know that we know; faulty assumptions, unrecognized biases, rigid mindsets, and the like. It is this category of 'knowledge' that is most dangerous, and not surprising that he left it out.
