Shirley Chisholm, what a remarkable woman... |

I'm watching that documentary about her 1972 run for president on PBS. It took a lot of guts for her to run, we really lost a great woman when she passed away last month

1. I'm watching that, too. |

I suspect I probably would have been a supporter had I been old enough in '72. What an amazing candidacy she had.
I somehow managed to miss the news of her death. That's a shame.

I considered her a role model when I was a young man. She exemplified courage and determination.
(on edit) I was 18 in 1972 when she ran or president

Watching Shirley Chisholm reminds me of what it looks like to have guts, candor, integrity, humor, grace, style, intelligence, magnetism and passion for what you stand for.
Her words about Rep. Dellums after she released her delegates were a lesson in refusing to become bitter.
An amazing soul.
