Feb 2nd, 2005 was both Groundhog Day and the day of George W. Bush's annual State of the Union address.
This was an ironic juxtaposition, in that:
One event involved a meaningless ritual in which we looked to a creature of little intelligence for important prognostication; the other event involved a groundhog.
