My emal from Liberty University
I signed up at my kid's high school so I could get info online, check grades, etc. Did this about a year and a half ago, when I had just changed ISP's. Within a week or so, we were getting 15-20 emails a week from various colleges. He looks at them and then deletes it all. But I snagged this one 2 days ago - from Liberty U.

Now that Jerry's communicating with me personally, I know I should be able to have some fun with this, but my brain is fried right now and I'm not feeling very creative. Any suggestions?

LIBERTY UNIVERSITY CAPTURES TWO PRESTIGIOUS HONORS

LU Wins Equities Cup

The student-led Liberty University Financial Management Association recently won the prestigious Equities Cup sponsored by Stock-Trak.com.

Liberty student, Ryan Robertson led Liberty's 42-member student team in the virtual stock market competition against seven of the top-ranked business schools in the United States.

The team squared off against prominent schools such as Carnegie-Mellon University, ranked as the nation's number two business school by the Wall Street Journal, the University of California-Berkeley, ranked as the country's number eight business school by US News, as well as a number of other business schools ranked in the top 20 of the Wall Street Journal, US News, and Forbes.

Each school was given $100,000 in imitation money to invest in a range of stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. Within two months, Liberty's Equities Cup Team produced $342,200 from their initial deposit. This outstanding achievement ranked them first. The University of Kentucky placed second.

Liberty University's School of Business continues to strive for excellence as they stand behind and encourage student organizations like the Liberty University Financial Management Association.

The largest number of Liberty students nominated prior to 2004 was five.

Liberty University was the only university to advance from the state of Virginia and Monte Cristo ranked in the top 10 and will move on to the finals at West Palm Beach, Florida on February 1-6, performing against schools such as UNC Chapel Hill, University of Mississippi, and the University of Florida.

1. Suggested Response
Dear Mr. Falwell
Congratulations on the Liberty University Financial Management Association recently winning the StockTrak.com Equities Cup. I hope that for this exercise, students only invested the imitation money in good Christian companies.

For example, in accordance with Matthew 22:21, American corporations must proudly pay their taxes rather than seeking excessive loopholes and exemptions. The companies must follow the dictates of Luke 14:13&14 by supporting local and national programs to assist the impoverished. Furthermore, these companies must not be involved with the making of any device that could be used for war, but instead should actively support and fund peace programs - this is in accordance with Matthew 5:44.

It is my personal belief that we cannot teach our young people the fundamentals of business without teaching them the fundamentals of the word of our Lord and Savior.

You get the idea.

3. Irene Ryan award nominees?
BFD, each school that participates in the ACT gets to nominate 2 of their students to audition for the Irene Ryan award. They still have to audition for it with nominees from schools nationwide.
