It was done to Rather, Can it be done to Hume? |
|
I have read the blatent lie by Brit Hume of Fox News about FDR and SS. How about a little campaign to Ratherize Brit Hume?

1. I think only the * Administration or it's complicit Corporate Media... |
|
has the power to "Rather" somebody. Look at all the evidence against * and his cronies. Yet somehow it does not make the news, or it gets buried with no follow-up.
Contrast that with Rathergate, which dominated the 24/7 news cycle for weeks - all over headlines of news shows, print newspapers, magazines...just relentless.
Same thing happened with the Swift Boat Vets, EXCEPT that no-one bothered to check if their assertions were true. You would think from Rathergate that our media is deeply obsessed with getting to the bottom of false allegations, but with SBVFT, they just repeated the allegations and played the ads for weeks, never bothering to check if the allegations were bogus. Even after the material was DECISIVELY REFUTED, they still did not report it or obsess that the Swift Boat Vets were discredited liars.
A critical book is "Into the Buzzsaw". Essays by mainstream journalists who have watched the process of killing atories first hand.

Any Soviet Citizen circa 1978 would understand.

3. No, because Fox is about propaganda. They know their stuff |
|
isn't correct. Rather got snowed by the trojan horse memo that was planned and couldn't prove that it was legit. He went after the president on a story we all know is correct and couldn't back it up. Then, the corporate owners demoted him.

5. Power Line (right wing) blog was credited with taking down Rather and CBS |
|
on Minnesota's KARE 11 news tonight (10pm show).
"Do we have a conservative agenda? You better believe it," said Hinderaker, one of the two Minneapolis attorneys (with connections to the Claremont Institute/Richard Mellon Scaife) running Power Line.
The news report detailed Power Line posting their 'Sixty First Minute' thread, and how it attracted hundreds of emails that helped destroy Rather's credibility on the bush AWOL story.
The progressive blogosphere knocked Trent Lott off his high horse. Apparently, right wing bloggers dealt a serious blow to CBS and Rather.
Why can't we do the same with Hume? The man is propagandizing his viewers - it's our civic duty to expose him.
