Drudge Fails In Transparent Attempt To Oust Chris Rock From Oscar Duties |
|
This was pretty slimy, even for self loathing gay rightwing Matt Drudge.
Drudge went after Rock for two reasons:
1) Drudge is obsessively anti-choice. The reason he left Fox News was because he wanted to show pictures of mangled fetuses on his show and the network got queasy about it (surprisingly).
2) Drudge is a Bush cultist. Being anti-choice, he throws his hat in with the party that panders to, but never quite satisfies, the fundamentalist religious rightwingers.
Rock has demonstrated that he doesn't consider either Bush or the issues of abortion off topic for his humor. This gets self loathing Matt riled up, so that he invents a controversy where there isn't one and splashes it across his front page in an effort not to cover events, but to influence them.
The Academy and Gil Cates were not falling for it. They reiterated their support of Rock today.
Hopefully, Chris Rock will do a long piece skewering self loathing gossip monger Matt Drudge. It's about time someone made him irrelevant.

3. Chris Rock should give David Brock a call... |
|
... I'm certain Brock can give Chris a few tips that were not reported in "Blinded By the Right."

4. Great little teaser to get all the writers motivated to write great stuff |

for Oscar night. I am definitely watching Rock. I used to watch for the clothes (and I'd get board half-way through). Now I will watch that show from top to bottom and laugh all the way through.
