1. And MSM says we don't care about politics... |
|
...BS! We're the ones being affected by *'s policies. My Pell Grants were cut. I have a personal score to settle with that asshole.

5. I read a thread a couple of nights ago |

from a well-informed person who stated their case, and then admitted they were all of 11! Now this child is 15 and made even more sense. It blew me away that anyone at that age was so involved! It's taken me alot longer! Eh, bon soir!

8. Us Old Codgers Will Know You Guys Are Really Pissed... |
|
...when we see 1,000,000 of you (along with me and others) on the Mall demanding our voices be heard and this regime listen.
I'll see it when there's more concerns on college campuses about this war like I experienced "back in the day"...or turn on the radio and hear a real hard-hitting anti-war anthem pouring out across the dial. We haven't gotten to those days, yet.
I don't fault the young people...especially those who are in the line of fire of being drafted into this quagmire, and have a 17 and 20 year old who keep me in line. My bitch is with the 25-40 year olds...the "Alex Keatons" who now are the dittoheads. These are the ones who drank the kool-aid and can't tell the truth from the spin.
Here's a toast to all young members of DU...I've seen some excellent posts by many and welcome the chance to dialogue across the generations.

9. ...lower the voting age! |
|
..why not?
And with it every other age based statute.
The debate is - to what? 17,16,15......

10. Let's Get The 18-24 Numbers Up First... |
|
Still way too many young people stayed home when we needed them last year. Bill Mahrer talked about it tonight...saying there were 79,000,000 people who didn't vote. Just a 5% increase and I'm certain the outcome couldn't have been Diebold'd.
I was part of that first "Class of '74"...the first 18 year olds to vote in elections in my state and I haven't missed an election since. I felt real proud when my daughter voted for the first time last year...and we had a party where we made sure a lot of her friends were registered.

I'm 19 btw, and don't want to end up in a bombed out crater in Iraq.
