Anyone need a Job out there? Cox Newspapers has a bunch
I was just doing another Job search, here in Atlanta, when I decieded to click the link to Jobs at the Atlanta_Journal-Constitution. Looks like they have a bunch of opening, and don't seem to have much in the way of past expiriance requirements. I say, the best way to change the News, is from the inside.

Anyone here think they can fill these Jobs?

1. I'll go take one of those Gannon 2 day Journalism "Schools" and apply...

Someone with time on their hands should apply, see if they get an interview, and report back!

Edited on Tue Feb-15-05 11:19 PM by lonestarnot
A repuke working for them in my neighborhood still has his bushitler sign hanging on his palm tree... but I wouldn't work for them under any circumstances.

7. Yep
I worked for Manheim Auto Auction which is owned by Cox. Fortunately, my benefits were way better than those described below.

5. I work for a Cox subsidiary now...
1. The health insurance sucks. Nobody likes it, but I guess it's better than nothing. They're self-insured, and I'm really glad I was able to opt out. (Hubby has BCBS Federal, and it's awesome!) They still offer the domestic partner insurance.

2. Company-paid long-term disability at 60% - cannot opt out.

3. Dental plan is separate from health insurance, and pays decent.

4. Some sort of pension (10 year vesting), but they're not very forthcoming with specifics - just that it's a benefit.

5. 401k - they match 50 cents on the dollar, with their max contribution at 3%.

Also miscellaneous other benefits, including tuition reimbursement.

The money stinks, but I work 7 miles from home and wear jeans and sneakers to work!

13. Longview TX
as this indicates is home to a Cox newspaper.

Believe it or not, the News-Journal endorsed Kerry and, of course, caught unshirted hell for it. The editor who wrote it is a native of the unionized area of Ohio. He is named Litterski and I guess he has proven to the rednecks around here he's got brass ones.
