The things that pass for "investigative reporting" |
|
Here in Denver, channel 7 just did a special on - what? The scoop on Condi Rice and whether she new the FAA had been warned repeatedly about the threat to use airplanes as weapons? Nah. Then maybe the Gannon story, about the infiltration of the Press Corp by an obvious Repug-backed shill who fed softballs to the Press Secretary? Nah.
No, in this bit of REAL journalism, they set up a sting for car wash workers and filmed them filching quarters out of their cupholders.
Yeah. That's gonna save the world. We can have corruption in the FAA, the White House, which impacts virtually every life on earth in some way, but no - the bigger story is about those nasty illegals who steal 50 cents from your cupholder.
Jeeeeezus.

They did this exact thing: an expose of car wash guys stealing change. Seriously. This was, what four or five years ago now?

I even looked it up on their web site. I just couldn't believe how utterly stupid it was. I was thinking that at some point the big splashy promo thing was going to come on, and it would be called, "Watch out for the Dirty Mexicans!"
Ugh. Still makes me upset.
