Radical Right Radio Regurgitation
I'm getting SICK and TIRED of all the talk show morons pounding on this point: "The liberals don't support our troops".
How is it that we don't support our troops? Not supporting an incredibly incompetent Commander-In-Chief IS NOT the same as not supporting the troops. Our brave men and women in the service are being used as pawns by a handful of traitorous scumbags, and they're being killed and injured by the thousands.
I, for one, have NOTHING BUT THE UTMOST RESPECT FOR OUR TROOPS.
How about the rest of you?

1. Same here!
In the words of a Tucson radio DJ...

"I'll supply the troops with anything they want or need...
But, I'll be darned if I'll be the president's jock strap."

2. Who doesn't support the troops?
I'll tell you who -- the people who would use their lives to further their own economic interests or gradiose delusions of world domination, that's who. And we all know those people aren't liberals.

We had a similar discussion in the "Frame the Debate" group a while back and the fact of the matter is, "support the troops" is short hand for "shut up." They aren't talking about the troops at all. They're talking about people towing *'s line, accepting whatever he says, drinking the Kool-Aid and pretending everything is just fine while people get killed.

13. By the way, got any sources to back up that 75% figure
because it's VERY different for enlisted vs. officers.

Cough up a link and get some credibility or stop harping and lecturing Democrats all over DU.

4. If these morans support our troops, ask why they don't enlist in them?
Nothing stopping them from doing that, is there?

5. The right wing has redefined the word 'Liberal' for their own use
When I hear people say things like that, I know they don't know what Liberal means, they are only throwing insults. When someone make a comment like that around me, I treat them like the hateful and immature people that they are.

7. Very unfortunate, but troops follow orders.
Bad leadership causes this shit, along with the fact that there are morons in all walks of life.

14. Ask Wingnuts These Questions:
1.) Are you, or do you donate money to Veterans organizations?

2.) Do you know where the closest local V.A. Hospital is? Have you ever been there?

3.) Do you favor the various cuts in VA benefits and the anti-veteran actions of this regime that will cripple returning Iraqi vets for the remainder of their lives?

4.) Would you be willing to forsake a tax cut or deduction if that money soley went to the care of disabled veterans?

5.) Have you ever been to a military funeral?

Few make it to question 3 before they try to change the topic. Most of these blowhards are of the generation that grew up after Vietnam and were too old for Gulf Oil I...but they sure can wave a flag.

Unfortunately this country needs to re-learn history the hard way. Respect for troops includes their welfare...they don't stop being troops when they end their tour...some of us will be here when those days come and they need us the most.

For those who do know of Iraqi Veterans, please take care with these folks, they're going to need a lot of support in trying to wash as much of their experiences out of their systems...if they ever can.

Cheers!

15. Half my family is either active-duty or veterans
and a goodly number of them are liberal Democrats, too. I desperately want a new ribbon magnet that says SUPPORT THE TROOPS - ENLIST!

Amazing how many of the people with those stupid support our troops ribbons on their cars have no family members at all serving. I have a nephew and two cousins in Iraq right now.

16. I saw those magnetic yellow ribbons in a store,
and asked which Veterans group the proceeds went to. "None", I was told. "They're just for sale".
