Does anyone what to start a Stop Hillary 2008 movement? |

We don't need a Republican Lite candidate, we need a real Democrat.

True - Hillary's perception is that she is WAY left of center |
|
and, she's actually fairly conservative... We do need somebody that is liberal, but perceived moderate.

5. Not just no, but hell no! |
|
I am not ruling out any democratic candidate. Four years is a long time and situations and events can change on a dime. Why on earth we would spend time and capital on such nonsense is beyond the pale. Leave her alone, let her do her job and concentrate on winning back as many of the House, Senate and governorships in 2006 as possible. If she is viable in 2008 then let's consider our choices, if not, then we haven't lost a dang thing.
That said, I like Hillary, don't buy into her "evil" mojo and think she would be a wonderful president if we could just get through some of her own party's misinformation and "underestimation" of the woman.

7. What do you mean? O'Reilly, Tweety, etc all LOVE her. |
|
Personally I can't stand her but what do I know - I'm one of those awful liberals who is against the war in Iraq. Clearly my judgment is impaired. Democrats need to start listening to Faux news - then we'll win. Of course we'll have basically a one party system posing as a two party system - but who cares?
And - what the hell happened to Bill Clinton? Has he been castrated? He used to stand up to those people at least occasionally. Is he being blackmailed or what?

13. "...what the hell happened to Bill Clinton?" |
|
You may have heard that he had a major surgery a few months ago. It takes quite a while to return to full speed after that.
Even so, he landed in Sri Lanka a few hours ago. You may have heard he was appointed special U.N. envoy to coordinate aid for tsunami victims.

14. History has a way of making things warm and fuzzy |
|
but what are the examples of when Clinton stood up for anything? Clinton was a good president and compared to what we have know he was Abe Lincoln, but he didn't stand up. He triangulated. Gays in the military? Welfare reform? I still remember his first press conference after the disastrous '94 midterms when he basically said "This will be great cause I agree with most of the contract with american anyway!". Again I am not anti-Clinton, but you can't say he succeeded by taking a stand.

to point out that in many peoples opinions she can't win. She does have the party connections, the fund raising ability and support within the party to get the nomination, but she would get creamed in a general election by all indications. Why is it nuts not to want that to happen?

Anyway, if we dont beat the right in the hearts and minds of our neighbors and if we dont reestablish democratic control of the media, it really doesnt matter who we run.

I'm sick of Democrats always trying to "Stop". How about a "GO" movement instead?
(Now I get the "Go, Dean GO," thing. Heh, sorry, took me awhile.)
