How To Turn the "Gannon Sues The Bloggers" To Our Advantage
Edited on Sun Feb-20-05 11:15 AM by stopbush
Simple: have every liberal bolg/website in the US join Gannon in a class-action lawsuit. That would immediately test the anti-American legislation * just signed this weekend under the disguise of tort reform. If nothing else, it would bolox up the process for at least a few years as the courts tried to sort the whole thing out. That would give the BFEE time to "deal with" Gannon in their traditional manner. :)

1. Exactly. Or the people of the U.S. could sue him for impersonating
a journalist.

2. Or just remind Mr. Guckert about litagation rules
There's a phase called discovery and he'd probably be asked to provide his client list.

I wrote about this at The Correction.

7. Does anyone think Guckert is trying to protect himself from being
the next accident victim of the White House? I think it would be a FANTASTIC idea to file a class action lawsuit on behalf of "reporters" like Gannon. Having 100,000 people on a class action lawsuit with Guckert's name on it sends the message he's not a MAIN STREAM reporter, he's a "citizen reporter" AND it might just keep him from disappearing.

Does anyone have any idea how that could be accomplished?

3. Or how 'bout we sue all media
for failure to inform us - that's breach of contract (fourth estate as governmental watchdogs.)

Seriously, what's Gannon suing for?
He can't sue for libel, even as a semi-private citizen. He is a whore and his websites prove it. I'm sure John at Americablog saved the evidence of that.
He can't sue for defamation of character. In most states, that's not even an option, but, even if it is, the same above applies. He did it to himself.

4. Excellent idea
not just for Gannon but for every lawsuit raised by a wingnut or fundy.

5. Wouldn't him suing be great??
it would get a ton more publicity for the story. Has anything published about him been untrue?? -- he really did have escort-for-hire sites, just like the bloggers alleged. It seems to me that it's been Guckert who's been lying all along. This is just another "talk tough and scare everybody" tactic -- the right wing does this all the time.
