Were it not so tragic, if the prospects were not so grim, it is a most interesting time. A people which has work so hard, shed so much blood and dreamed such grand dreams now being reduced to a return to a social system of lord and surf from which it escaped only two centuries ago.

America has crossed the Rubicon and now the elitist reactionary army is readying its hand for the Coup de Grace. Even as the demise of the working and middle-class is writ large for all to see; the majority of the working and middle-class act as if nothing is amiss. They simply do not understand or think that what is happening cannot happen.

This disconnect between reality and fiction will fall away and we shall all stand in unrelenting light of a system so harsh that it shall beggar the mind.

What is to be done?

What can be done?

Maybe nothing short of providence will deliver us.

Maybe we are destined not to escape.

Maybe our fate is written in our greed and ennui.

I am reminded of a Basque Woman’s cry during the Spanish Civil War, if memory serves me, it was, “It is better to die standing on one’s feet, than to live in chains upon one’s knees.” That perhaps is a prescient thought for these times.
