Basically, the questions that need to be answered are :
What role does the press have in regards to being the watchdog over our government? If they join with that government, Democratic or Republican, is that not in total contradiction to our First Amendment in regards to "freedom of the press"?

Also, to what extent, if any, should the government, Democratic or Republican, spend taxpayer dollars on propaganda to promote their agenda? Should not it go thru the normal process of legislation? Why is there a need to propagandize the people on any issue? Why not put out your viewpoint and let the Congress vote up or down, without the pressure of the public brought about by propaganda created by their own tax dollars?
