Tidying up the loose ends...Israel... |
|
This just occurred to me, and it maybe obvious already to many of you, but don't you think it odd that things between Israel and the Palestinians are moving along surprisingly quick? And that john, I can squeeze you by the balls, negroponte stated that he would support Israel if they attacked Iran, a bit of a coincidence? This would allow Israel to do morons* dirty work, since moron is now under the microscope regarding spending and stretching our troop commitments. Starting another war certainly wouldn't win him props with anyone including his own fucked party Having Israel launch an attack under the pretense of a threat to their nation. They did it in the past to Iraq. So they have a history and can just by pass the whole UN without some much as a hello. At which point, moron* could support Israel with our own troops, since we now border Iran on two sides. Am I crazy in thinking this?

I'm just not sure they can claim Iran poses the same problem to them as Iraq, making it less likely that they do what you suggest.

2. I think you're crazy. War in Iran OR Syria would almost... |

certainly result in grave damage to Israel. And it would completely derail the peace process just when it has a chance to bloom. Moreover it would probably inflame the entire Muslim world, already predisposed against Israel, and increase antisemitism anywhere.
IF Israel acts it would be, in my opinion, because they are being blackmailed and/or threatened by Washington, or because some instigation is "arranged" - a severe attack on Israel - that would compell retaliation.
