Bill Maher Tonight with... |
|
Edited on Fri Feb-25-05 07:23 PM by stepnw1f
Repressed Bow-Tie boy Tucker. The whore is doing anything to resurrect his career by being guest to one of my favorite shows. This oughta be fun.
I love seeing these frauds "defrocked" one-by-one.

3. I gotta admit, if Maher can get Tucker to cuss it would be worth it. |
|
To be fair, Bow-tie boy Tucker is at least a more of a "classic" conservative that the Neo-cons that are running the ballgame.

All crumpled and worn, I'd imagine.
Just curious. :)

That left me only willing to give him one more chance. How does such a flawed (translation: irremediably fucked-up), under-the-gun, founded-in-bloody-illegality, election merit any credit for this thug Bush? How does such an election justify all that lying, killing, corruption and incompetence or be seen as anything than another disgusting stage in this monumental fraud? No one on the panel even blinked when he gave credit to Bush: "ya gotta hand it to him..., he did it". Could it be the demographics of that panel? Three well-healed comfortable masters of the universe.

He lets right wingers come on his show and dominate the speaking time. I'll take Ed Schultz and Randi Rhodes who have NO problem smacking down FReepers. Bill is TOO cozy with the enemy!

20. Maher just implied the 100,000 dead Iraqis might have been dead.... |
|
under Saddam...and he seemed to be ok with it. What he is thinking? It did not phase him, he did not even ponder it...just said well Saddam might have killed that many.
Sorry, Bill.

I mean I've always defended Maher as a consistent (libertarian for sure) view point. Like most libertarians I like him on social issues and hate him on taxation. But that moment on Saddam's crimes was bullshit. Maher knows and in fact he mentioned in one of his HBO specials that Saddam did most of his dirty work under our support in the late 80s and then when we turned the other way right after the Gulf War when he destroyed the Shiite uprising. Seeing Maher put that point on the table and pretending to believe was quite disturbing. In fact very disappointing.

Maher feigning ignorance to the Hopkins 100,000 figure that Robbins brought up was very suspect. I'm pretty sure that this had been mentioned on Real Time before.... Maher acted like he had never even heard of that figure... very bad IMO

24. O.K. what the hell is up with Bill? |
|
So far this season, his shows have been relatively tame, nothing like before, during & after the election. Has he been "pressured" to be a little more conservative or has he just succumbed to the fact that * is here to stay for another 4 yrs?
I LOVED Rep. Tubbs-Jones; her eyes were shooting :spank: some arrows at Carlson!!

33. The "covenant marriage" conversation bugged me. |
|
No one mentioned that a "covenant marriage" is redundant.
No one mentioned that it is an attempt to "redefine marriage", making traditional marriage transitory, thereby "weakening" and "attacking" it.

...I don't think there is anything wrong with getting liberals and conservatives together to talk things out, and Bill's job as moderator is to bring up topics and provoke discussion. That's what I saw happening tonight, and even though it wasn't as "kick-ass" as we all might have liked, in the long run we're going to get further in "winning the hearts and minds" of our fellow Americans with an open dialogue rather than the "us and them" mentality. I agreed with some of what everybody said, and I disagreed with some of what everybody said (except for Tim Robbins, who's ALWAYS right on),

Because conservatives are so under-represented in the media. I should have watched the rerun of Law & Order instead.
