2. Hmm..almost any image anywhere has an implicit copyright

It might be public domain, it might be fair use, it might be restricted.

But there isn't an image anywhere on the net that doesn't have some law governing it's use (even if the law is nothing but, "go ahead and use it however you want").

I think Fair Use would cover most images posted on a public discussion forum, however.

3. I think as long as you don't take credit for it yourself

and give credit where credit is due, I see no reason why not. if it's already on the internet somewhere, it's public viewing.
