Garrison Keillor's "Homegrown Democrat"
I am reading this heartwarming, incredible book. To call it incredible is to do it a disservice. It makes me so proud to be a new Democrat, and so glad that I smartened up and am no longer a repub.

He discusses everything good there is about Democrats: our compassion, our caring, our civil rights record, our support of public education, which gives every child, rich or poor, a chance to succeed in life. So many wonderful qualities of Democrats.

I am going to send it to my repub wacko religious friend and then my Mother in law and my father. My dad will probably be the only to really read it, but that's okay. Maybe we can sink in one idea at a time to these brainwashed people.

5. Thanks - I have always liked liberals better
as friends anyway. Unfortunately, I was born into Dems turned repubs. That's why I am sending my dad this book - perhaps, before he dies, he can find his soul again.

4. Thanks for the book tip
Maybe your family will read it if you tell them that you want them to understand who you are. Good luck and enjoy the rest of the book!

6. I read that too! I love it!
I love what he said about JFK.

Do you listen to Keillor's "Prairie Home Companion" on National Public Radio? It's hokey, but he does great Bush parodies.

7. I'm reading it right now as well, and loving it.
I liked this quote:

"Republicans: the number one reason why the rest of the world thinks we're deaf, dumb and dangerous." Garrison Keillor.

I LIKE that man. LOL.
