My son is 11. Will we still be in Iraq by the time he's 18? |

This is something that I think about quite often. I do know this. If this radical band of Neo-Cons continue to rule the country and if they manage to implement a draft, I'll leave this fucking country.
I will not let my son die for the wet dreams of mad men.

why I refuse to surrender my,...THEIR country to these criminals. They will die for Bush's lies over MY dead body...believe me, even if we aren't still deploying troops in Iraq when they are young men, Bush's misguided policies and maladministration have made enough enemies for our children to face/fight/fear for years to come.

We may be in Iran, Syria, Taiwan, Myanmar, Lebanon, Korea, or Saudi Arabia. But we will not be in Iraq.

5. For sure, we'll have lots of bases in Iraq. |
|
I think the Germans are soon going to demand we pull our bases out of Germany. And with the growing tension with North Korea we will have to abandon our bases in South Korea because they will be in harm's way (nuclear blast), I would say service in even a "peacetime"Iraq will be more than likely.

6. Nah. By then we'll be in Korea. |
|
Iran and Syria will be "mission accomplished" and it's on to Southeast Asia.

invasion. I was seven when the Vietnam War started. I was nineteen when it ended.
The really scary bit is that Bush and his cabal don't seem to want to stop with Afghanistan and Iraq. He wants ALL of the Middle East.

who has strong memories of attending anti war rallies in San Francisco wrote a very scathing letter about the war and Bush* that we meter mailed it to ourselves. It's never to early to start a file. My son will not be drafted for this illegal and immoral war, but we refuse run either. You know what I mean, vern?

The oldest will soon be 12. I think of this often. They will NEVER EVER take my children. We'll leave if we have to. Let him send his lush daughters to fight.

|
...I have a daughter that will be 20 in June, a son that will be 7 in March, and another daughter who will be 5 in June. Yes, I'm sweating bullets for all three of them.

and gone back by that time. Things change so drastically, in so short a time that we seem to forget the in-betweens. Think about the middle of Clinton's second term. Man, we (the human race)were on a roll and although things weren't perfect there was a tinge of a sense that we could get there. Now look at the shit-storm we are in today. Torture, murder mayhem, occupation, DECAY. I guess what I'm trying to say is that there's no possible way to know. Enjoy what you have and when that seven years is up, be ready to go.
