Condoleeza is Steppin’ Out: “Best step back, bitches!”

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice arrived at the Wiesbaden Army Airfield on Wednesday dressed all in black. Her black leather duster covered a rubber shirt. As Rice stepped out to greet the troops, the coat blew open in a rather swashbuckling way to reveal a pair of fuck-me pumps. Gone is the nerdy demeanor from her days as national security advisor. Now she’s steppin’ out overseas with a whole new look. Think Denzel Washington in Training Day.

“All y’all terrorist bitches best STEP BACK! ‘Cause we’s fixin’ to get medieval on some muthafuckas. Startin’ wit France.”

Rice's coat and boots speak of sex and power -- such a volatile combination, and one that in political circles rarely leads to anything but scandal. When looking at the image of Rice in Wiesbaden, the mind searches for ways to put it all into context. It turns to fiction, to caricature. To shadowy daydreams. Dominatrix! It is as though sex and power can only co-exist in a fantasy. At least, that’s what we’re fantasizing about here in the newsroom at the WP.

Frankly, all she needs now is that rubber mask from the Catwoman remake.

Rice challenges expectations and assumptions. There is undeniable authority in her long black jacket with its severe details and menacing silhouette. The darkness lends an air of mystery and foreboding. Black is the color of intellectualism, of abstinence, of penitence. (Are you masturbating yet?) If there is any symbolism to be gleaned from Rice's stark garments, it is that she is tough and focused enough for whatever task is at hand.

Oh beat me, baby! Get it over with and beat me, momma! Hurt me bad, I've been naughty again!

Countless essays and books have been written about the erotic nature of high heels. But few of them have been featured as fetishist fantasies featured in the Washington Post.

1. Looks like Janet Jackson to me.
Will we see a superbowl half-time performance in 2006?

5. It's the (neo) Nazi look.
Lots of black leather. Authoritarian. Nazis loved it.
