Is April Ryan another GOP plant reporter?
This one needs the "DU" inspection.

Nobody can seem to find much on or about this woman. She's with American Urban Radio Network, and the Wash Post reportedly has no bio for her. Freepers like her, Gannon likes her, and she and Armstrong (remember--the "reporter" on the WH payroll?) were the only reporters invited to a White House dinner.

This smells bad to several folks, and I have to admit, I'm wondering if we have another GOP stooge spotted here.

Anybody know anything here?

Laura

10. Um, April Ryan is the name of a character
from a little-known but absolutely fantastic computer game called "The Longest Journey" ... that's the first thing I thought of when I read this post.

3. She doesn't seem harmful to me.
When Clinton was president, she was respectful. She was even invited on one of his trips to Africa. She could be one of those reporters that get along with everyone, you know...neutral to everything.

4. I find references to her going back at least 5 years.
She did a Clinton interview back in 2000--pre Bush fake news.

that Gannonlike question in Bush's press conference on the eve of Shock and Awe.

That was the last question asked of the assembled reporters and it gav e Bush a chance to seem "reflective" and in alignment with his creator.

7. i think it's pretty widespread
if we ever get to the bottom of this, we'll probably find out that 1/2 or more of the "journalists" writing about this WH are on the pad.

9. Probably not a plant, but perhaps a payrollee?
Her entrance into the White House press corps under Clinton suggests (but doesn't completely prove) that she's probably not an out an out plant.

The question I have is whether she is one of the growing number of people who got paid off, or whether she just comes by her conservative affinities naturally by virtue of faith.

I've just checked the Wash Post list of White House correspondents, and she's one of only two on the entire list with no links for a bio or any recent stories or columns.

13. Welcome to DU, kevsand.
It's obvious that there are many ways to support the GOP and this administration. Corporations purchase air time disproportionate to their return on right wing radio. Individuals "fund" right wing websites which in turn put out propaganda in support of the administration's policies.

The WH doesn't have to be paying them directly. It's why the word "machine" is generally used with the word "propaganda."

15. This all started
as a question from "ms in losangeles" in the UnitedForClark Yahoo group.

There is now also a thread at dailykos with the same subject, and some additional items of interest, as well as a summary of the initial findings from the original thread at UnitedForClark.

Please check through it if you have a minute...

suspicious of.

If anyone can dig up some info. I posted on it earlier this week and it didn't get much play time here.

But maybe someone can look into this one too.

Nancy Salvato is her name.

Check out this thread for info. She defends Armstrong, is an educational consultant, etc.

20. This Nancy Salvato
is quite a piece of work, I'll grant you that. After reading several of her columns, I suddenly feel the need to go wash my hands.

I'm wondering if she still has any connection to the IL St. Senate 23rd District, now that there's a new Senator there. The guy Nancy worked for (Ray Soden) was originally appointed to replace the besieged Pate Philip, on the condition that he (Ray) wouldn't run in 2004.

Have you ever posted this in the Illinois group? I'm wondering if anybody there knows about the terror of Glendale Heights...

22. I haven't posted it anywhere else. I only have suspicions, but
would like it if someone could get this to some people who could work this out. It might be nothing, but I'm tellin ya, I think she is very much like Armstrong Williams!

If you have some ways of helping to get this looked into, be my guest, please please please post away for me.

Thanks a million!

18. I've researched her a bit
and you are right, something smells fishy about her, but I had a hard time finding much. Maybe other DUers will.

Not even her employer's website has much about her.
