I'm trying to arrange a couple interviews for him with people I think would be useful to his upcoming expose of the pharmaceutical industry.

Thanks!

1. Moore is doing an expose on the pharma industry?
I may have some sources for him, too. A source of mine leaked a story about NIH researchers who allegedly rigged tests to keep a dangerous drug on the market; I haven't seen proof of the rigging, but have seen written documents proving that the majority of the researchers have taken money from pharmaceutical companies in the past--and didn't disclose that fact.

I don't know if my source would talk to Michael Moore. He gave me this info under condition of anonymity. But I could ask.

12. Working Title Is "Sicko"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0386032/

Here's the info...a look at the rathole that's a healthcare system...and he'll have plenty of material to go from here.

This is a topic people don't like to see/talk about until they're stuck with a loved one or themselves in a health crisis. Here's hoping MM exposes the slimebuckets that make money off of people's illness and destitution.

20. So it's on the entire healthcare system? I have another story for Moore.
Things have gotten so bad in San Diego, where hospitals have gone under and closed, that when my 76-year-old father had dual surgeries earlier this month, the hospital couldn't get him into a room for over 8 hours afterwards because all beds in the entire county were full! He was left alone in the recovery room with no family allowed to visit, scared to death, because his legs didn't recover feeling after a spinal for 7 hours. (It's supposed to take only 3 or 4 hours.) So he was afraid of being paralyzed, overworked nurses failed to change bags in a timely fashion, leaving him in pain, and we finally had to call a doctor to get us past Nurse Ratchett at the desk.

Now Arnold Schwarzenegger wants to cut DOWN the nurse-patient ratio! Oh, yeah. The waiting room where Mom and I had to chill out for 8 hours was at the end of a long dark hall, next to a stairwell to the outside. There wasn't a single soul there besides us come nightfall--very, very creepy. Mom was afraid of getting raped or mugged, on top of being worried sick about Dad.

This could happen to ANYONE, folks. My parents have some money, and had actually requested a private room before Dad was admitted for his elective surgeries (hernia and prostate procedures). As it turned out, we were lucky to get him into a ward at nearly midnight.

I asked the doctor if this situation is unusual (thinking perhaps there'd been a freeway pileup of 50 cars or something). Unfortunately, he said it's becoming commonplace.

Did I mention this place was rated one of the top hospitals in the US recently by a major magazine?

I'd shudder to see the worst.

4. Just stop it. Michael Moore's F911 woke up America.
Edited on Sat Feb-26-05 12:54 AM by in_cog_ni_to
Most of this country's sheeple didn't know what this administration was made of until F911 was in the theaters. I recall standing in line for 2 hours to see that movie! 3 TIMES! Give me a break. We won't mention the FACT that it was a best selling Documentary and made MORE money than ANY other documentary. GEEZUS. Give it a rest.

11. I agree
I saw F911 and didn't know about a lot of stuff in there. Then I started digging around for more info. Moore at least got me interested in searching for the truth. Thank God cause now I'm a proud democrat!

14. I knew MOST of what was in the movie because of DU, but
one thing I didn't know was that no one in the Senate would sign on to stop the certification of the 2000 election. The Black Caucus rocked and I had never seen that. I didn't watch C-SPAN back then and apparently that was the ONLY network to cover it? That was a shameful thing to watch. Those Senators should still hang their heads over that. :grr:

Thank You Michael for opening my eyes! :eyes:

6. Michael Moore energized a whole new generation like never before
The only way he has "hurt" the left is when the reich-wing tries to spin him as some kind of crazy fraud.

He doesn't make us look bad.

The Reich-wing SAYS he makes us look bad.

What's that link about at the end of your post?

Polish gray ranks and all that. You're insinuating what? We're not stupid here, you know.

9. The Right Wingnuts FEAR MM.
Thus, the attacks.

AFAIK, MM is the only private citizen to EVER be attacked from the podium at a national political convention. If someone can find another incident of a private citizen being attacked from the podium (as MM was attacked by McCain), PLEASE correct me.

The attempts to marginalize MM and Hollywood are orchestrated by the coupmeisters and their good friends in the CorpoMedia.

16. Cheers to Michael and his new movie
as a doctor I can tell you that the amount of corruption in medicine--particularly with regards to prescription drugs--is staggering. But we are talking a lot of money in play--Moore's going to make a lot of powerful people very angry (when they should actually just feel ashamed.)

He's an Academy Award winner. He'll find a venue. Don't worry.

22. I Wish MM Well With An Expose of BigPharma & Health but......
I would like him to do a follow-up to F911. Call it F911&1/2. This sequel is practically writing itself. And now that more people are attuned to what has gone on in the past - it would be interesting to point out all that has gone on since F911 first hit the scene.

23. A sequel would better be called Apocalypse 9-11
Unfortunately, if Fahrenheit 9-11 was shown in theaters, the sequel will most likely be performed in caves midst the rubble.
