Patriotism is standing up for your rights, not waving a flag or having a
"support the troops" bumpersticker on your pollutin' SUV. WE, the Democrats, liberals, progressives are patriots. Republicans are faux patriots.

3. The PATRIOT Act is most unpatriotic law Congress has ever passed
It did away with the Bill of Rights, 224 years of American freedom buried by one law.

4. I like to tell rethuglicans about my ancestors
Who fought in every war America has had since the revolution. They didn't fight and die so corporate pirates could rape the land and ship jobs overseas to enrich fat dictators on the backs of repressed workers.

5. I'm certainly not into the patriotic scene or thing or what ever one calls
it! I'll defend this country with my life, I can't buy into the bullshit, "My Country Right or Wrong"

Patriotism is your conviction that this country is superior to all others because you were born in it. William Shakespeare

10. I think you took the wrong understanding of the quote.
He's pointing out that the people who put the flags on their vehicles stop at just that. It is a for-show patriotism stemming from their own arrogance, "Hey look at how many flags I have on my car. I must really love MY country."

He really rips these people to shreds in his book "When You Ride Alone, You Ride with Bin Laden."

12. I don't believe in SUV's, but I think you should do both.
Put a flag on your car, hang a flag out in your yard, and still support the troops. My son is in the Navy, and I always fly my flag on a pole in my yard. I've never tried to say, not did I think I was more patriotic than anyone who doesn't, but I support my son and all the other military personnel that have volunteered to serve.

Of course there are lots of people, mostly Pugs, who do stop with the symbol, but you can do both.
