Thank God for the beach mouse! Sierra Club Magazine |
|
quotes a University of Alabama scientist who said "Thank God for the beach mouse!" The furious developers who were prevented from building right on the sand dunes because it could have disturbed the habitat of the little beach mouse, now are grateful that hurricane Ivan didn't destroy their developments, as they were far enough back from the surf (500 feet) to be saved.

1. Developers vs. the environment. That's what it's coming down to. |

Only so much land...and they want to build, build, build...you know the old republican bullshit... "But, it creates jobs"...Temporary jobs. As the developers exploit, make gobs of money, move on and don't care what they are building on, polluting and leaving behind.
I've been a member of the Sierra Club since James Watt became Secretary of Interior under Reagan...And I know, it won't any get better under this fascist administration. We are going to have to fight for every bit of this earth for future generations, it's our duty and obligation to leave them something untouched, real and wild. As each day passes some spices of plants, animal and land becomes extinct and/or unusable.
As the pigman says, fuck them if they can't adapt or survive, humans rule.
What a sick, selfish, greedy philosophy.
What kind of world will we leave for our children, in that, the republicans profess so much supposed interest in.
Grab what you can? Am I missing something?
Are wars, money & destruction...Is that what's most important to you?
