3. He dodged it. Anderson asked him what was so hard about Jim.
It was a great moment.

4. The "real" answer is
that, back when I was a fag hag, a lot of the guys I hung out with had "street" or "bar" names for cover. It was always the same name from bar to bar. Some did it because they were closeted and others did it out of protection, i.e., want to make sure the guy they are flirting with won't go "Matthew Shepard" on them. It is common out here in the midwest.

Guckert's problem appears to be arrogance. He used his "street" name. He should have known it would come back to bite him.

or

Because He's..."Jeff Gannon - Male Prostitute." (SNL- Dan Aykroyd reference):silly:

8. I will deny most gay men use nicknames
I've know hundreds and i am one. Only one or two have used anything but their given name.

12. Sorry, that sentence was a bit confusing, to many double negatives...
..., but that's what I meant, most Gay men DO you their "real" given names, NOT "nicknames" like Jeff.

I meant no offense. My best Friend, while growing up, was Gay.

13. If he was soliciting online...
You have to admit that "James Guckert" does not bring to mind a "strapping military stud". With a name like that in grade school and high school he's probably heard every variation.

"Jeff Gannon" sounds white and urbane. It could be a porn star name -- or that of a high-power news reporter. And of course he's not going to whore with his real identity.

In this case, it's not a pseudonym or a pen name changed for ease of pronunciation or differentiation from people with similar names (as often happens in media occupations - for actors in SAG and Equity your name cannot match anyone else's). It is an alias used to both change his image and to keep anyone off his trail, say for tax evasion or prostitution.

My guess is he probably has a different "trick" name. Surely he didn't write in the press pool using the name he gives to his clients.

15. One thing we think we do know, is that he is lying about his age
According to what I saw on "The Daily Show," He claims to be 32yrs on hotmilitarystud.com, but every news reports I've seen, they say he's 47.:wtf:

7. Anderson Cooper asked him that in that hard hitting interview theother day
He didn't really answer, he said, "no no...I meant my last name". And then Cooper didn't expand further on that.

11. Such bullshit--is Guckert any harder to pronounce than
Jim Mic-alsomething or other, I think he's a NBC reporter--hell, I haven't even got the faintest foggiest notion of how to spell it.

14. They are crazy not stupid...
I have some problems with the Gannon story that are a little more substantial then his name.

Why is a prostitute hanging out in the Whitehouse press room?

There are multiple scenarios and if they wanted someone anonymous do you think they would pick this guy to shill questions?

Those who think this Whitehouse is at all naive are the real fools.

A real life Gay prostitute who advertises to Military Natured people sitting in one of the few places on earth that regularly will get him on TV. Ask you self what value is having Gannon over John Doe playing reporter, and why has Gannon not gone away? It is just not worth it to put Gannon in there when you can get someone with a less problematic background. Unless Jeff Gannon is really what you want on the TV as a reminder to those who know him and watching.

Looking at his character as a prostitute he advertises to Politicians, Government Employees, and Senior Military types. Gay ex-military homosexual, or someone who knows how to keep secrets. Part of that don’t ask don’t tell military.

Who watches C-Span more than anyone else?
Politicians, Government Employees, Senior Military... Pretty much those with the power to put the * clan in the hot seat and possibly in a jail cell; those that usually can provide the evidence. It isn't going to be the civilian government that’s going to stop these guys we know that.

What I guess I am saying is like many of the stories that run through the media we should not be so quick to conclude the exact reasons for Mr. Gannon's existence. To say that one part of his life is not connected to an other part is quite naive of us.

The * people get away with too many coincidences.

None of the interviewers seem to want to call him on that....
