Military Uses of Nanotechnology - scary stuff
this article sits next to a related article on how the US might defeat Iran very quickly. Don't know how much of this is accurate and how much of it is subtle propoganda. If it is accurate we are in for some nasty times ahead.

<snip>

Militaries all around the world is about to embark upon the use of Nano-materials, Nano-bots and Nano-technologies that will make current Weapons of mass Destruction look miniscule.

Armies of enormous strengths can be wiped out slowly without even fighting a single battle. The soldiers may never know that they have been nano-poisoned.

The second article>>>

<snip>

American warfare technologies are capable of making the Iranians outright surrender in a few weeks with little real fighting. In the last two years, American have mastered such technologies that Iran will not be able to stand even days.

2. Compared to IndiaDaily, Marvel Comics is also a good source of info
The sort of nanotech virus bombs described is clearly in violation of int'l treaties. As for wide-area ion saturation technology, this is silly -- it violates the basic laws of physics and would require an energy source akin to an H-Bomb blast.

* would more likely use the CBW stocks and nukes we already have in abundance.

ABM lasers are a reality though.

Anyone see confirmation that Musharraf signed off on 2/25 to an American attack on Iran?

3. I doubt this.
Nano Tech is a incredibly complex field. While I'm certain it has definate military applications, I am also fairly certain that they are not up to the level required to militarily deploy any sort of nanological weaponry, unless you consider bio/chem weaponry nano weapons. If we do decide to 'have a adventure in Persia', then it will most likely be with SpecOps, Cruise Missles, and Bomber runs. Probably a series of quick limited strike of obvious and suspected target. Unless of course the admin decides it needs more oil, in which case roll out the draft and get ready for another occupation. I actually think it's not so much about the oil as much as it is about the 'reconstruction' contracts that provide so much wonderous lucre for private companies straight out of the taxpayers pockets.

4. Sci-fi babblings? Or a warning to Europe?
Could be prattle from a guy made rich by their blooming IT 'industry'.

Or he's telling Europe how America's new weapons will make it all too easy for "us" to conquer the entire world.

5. India Daily seems to be their equivalent to the National Midnight Star
They often have articles talking about UFOs and alien mind control. They state it as an accepted reality, not a postulation, which I find interesting--but then again, I'm interested in such stuff. My point is, I think it's kind of an "out there" news source. Most people should probably take anything from them with a giant boulder of salt...

6. Make that pillar of salt -
evidence of H-bombs in biblical times, don't you agree? Hey, National Midnight Star, wow, another research tool! That and Marvel Comix and I'm ready to be a political commentator on Feaux News!

A rich resource.

;) :+ :silly:

7. Nanotechnology doesn't mean SHIT to a pissed-off populace
You can have flying robots the size of dragonflies squirting bio-agents all you want, but when you don't KNOW who the enemy is (because they are so prevalent and embedded), little expensive robots are fucking worthless.

I present: Iraq.

Just another excuse to use whiz-bang technology (with little civilian oversight) and money going by the truckload to military contractors.
