Corporate MSM is milking this Daddy Bush/Bill Clinton thing to the max |
|
and, sorry, but it annoys the hell out of me. I thought it was all played out, but as recent as this morning it's still being milked on CNN, MSNBC, and I imagine Fox (which I refuse to watch, of course). I'm not talking about their efforts in the name of tsunami relief either, which is fine. This is now going well beyond that.
I'm not so much annoyed at the thought of Clinton and Bush Sr being seen together as getting along in their retired years and doing nice things, but all of a sudden, according to MSM, they've practically been life-long friends and are showing how Dems and Repukes are one and the same when it comes right down to what we all stand for. Gimme a break. What disgusts me, though, is how the Repukes are playing this as such a trump card for them and how corporate media buys into it so much. All this does is give the present party in power another big phoney pat on the back at the expense of us "loser" Democrats. If Kerry was in power, does anyone ever think for a split second that old-man Bush would be gallavanting all over the place on Clinton's coattails...in this big effort to prove how everyone "should just get along?" I highly doubt it.
Once again, it's Republicans taking advantage of a winning situation in a ploy to bolster THEIR image as peacemakers of the earth....and MSM is all over it. What a crock. Jesus Christ our party is so far behind in the PR game it's unbelievable. Howard Dean, you have a lot of catching up to do. Good luck, my man!

Does anyone really know what Clinton is up to?
Is it Jimmy Carter-style image rehabilitation through good works?
If so, isn't it possible to embrace worthy causes without embracing the devil to do so?
What is happening? I feel like Clinton has been re-programmed and sent out to sell the Bush family.
WTF?

3. what I think he's up to... |
|
This is all for Hillary '08 - an attempt to reduce the right-wing hatred of the Clinton family by hobnobbing and globetrotting with the senior member of the crime family.
He should know it won't work. These people are professional haters, and any bone thrown to them is interpreted as a sign of weakness.
I don't care that they've joined together for a good cause. The media gushing over their personal 'new best friend' status is just nauseating.

4. I think Clinton is into this because he truly wants to help, not to |
|
mention how it would look if the WH put out a leak that they asked Clinton and he turned them down.
Of course, I think the WH asked Clinton to do this in order to shut him up during the Social Security debate. Notice how Bushco is using Clinton to prop up their own proposals? Clinton can't step up and put any of that straight while he's out working with Poppy. It's a lose/lose situation for him. The longer they can keep Poppy and Clinton together and out in front, they've basically got Clinton muzzled.

6. No one has a problem with Clinton trying to help, but his image is |
|
being used to bolster the image of Poppy and his murdering brat son.
It's sickening to see MSM pick out a couple snips of Poppy practically slipping tongue to Bill and passing it off as something sincere. I feel it's an insult to myself, to you, and to Bill Clinton. I'm not trying to fault Clinton for this...just how he's being manipulated in the cause for the Bushes :puke:

8. Clinton keeps our enemies close. Good plan: do good works AND use Poppy |
|
as a tool in the process.
I trust Big Dog. He's taking care of those in need and working the other side's last nerve.

9. I trust Bill, too. It's the repukes and corporate media who are |
|
taking full advantage of his sincerity for their own self-serving needs, once again painting themselves as something they really are not...all through their manipulation of the media through their association with a good man, Bill Clinton.
