George Bush isn't gay
I am beyond tired of hearing this nonsencical theory posited on DU. Bush is married, with children, and has been reputed to have paid for an abortion for a previous girlfriend. All of that points to straight. On the gay side we have the fact he stayed friends with Victor Ashe, who may or may not, be gay. This isn't a preponderence of the evidence it is nearly all the evidence that Bush is straight. I realize that some would love to add to Bush's list of hypocritical acts, his being a gay man who would alter the Constitution to prevent marriage equality, but we will have to stick with the following list:

draft dodger who is currently drafting people for Iraq
marijuana user who jails marijuana users
probable cocaine user who jails cocaine users
benificiary of the legacy system who rails against Afirmative Action
crass defender of smearing Gore and McCain who tells us he will change the tone of Washington

This really is enough hypocricy to go around. We don't need to invent it.

Didn't Bush say he had a man date after the election?

4. Well, he's not "gay" if you're talking in terms of orientation...
at least i don't think so.

If you're talking about "gay" in the modern colloquial sense, as often employed by the teens of today (i.e. "Homework is so gay"), he most certainly is that.

By the way, i am quick to correct those same teens by shying them away from that particularly offensive meaning of the word.

5. When people use the Ashe evidence, aren't they saying that a
gay man and straight man can't ever be friends? Unbelievable what ugly thoughts can emanate from people when trying to gain political power.

6. You left some stuff out...
Personally I have no idea about his sexuality.

But if you're going to stack up the evidence and compare each side, you should be thorough. Victor is not the only evidence on the one side.

10. The only other thing I have seen posted here
was the fraternity stuff, which if every frat boy who did that kind of thing as part of initiation were gay, then there would be a whole lot of gay frat boys out there.

24. There's much more than that.
I don't think this is a particularly productive line of research, because the fundies are so twisted that they will just claim he's "repented" and not be bothered about it. They do whatever they are told.

But if you are interested, try this thread here:

26. I imagine there are....they are the ones who came up with the
defense of marraige bullshit. Heaven knows what would happen to these fellas marrages if the option of divorce from their beards and marraige to their frat boy lovers fell into the socially acceptable realm.

I think guys like Bush need the Gay communities support. He's and his brothers are attempting to legislate self control. How difficult it must be maintaining the facade of heterosexuality....and worrying about the woes of the inevitable divorce which would, no doubt, ensue when ones surrenders to the siren song of gay love.

I mean it seems obvious to me....anyone who refers to the prevention of gay marraige as "the defense of marraige" is obviously a latent, or in the closet, homosexual.

He was a cheerleader

His parents had him "degayed at a Christian Camp specialising in
de "gaying people" .

The guy is gay .

You'd need to provide some sort of backup for that
statement. I'm not buying it.

fixation he has for bald men's heads. He pats them, he fondles them, he kisses them, all in public and with those of what I presume to be perfect strangers.

I find it disgusting that no one dares pull back from The Leader's bazaar advances. His next victim ought to slap him with a sexual harassment suit, big time.

Typo corrected. :spank: Harder, Jeff!

12. Just to play devil's advocate
I agree that posts intending to claim evidence of a man's sexual identity are pointless, but just for some funny evidence that married + kids does not always equal straight:

Culled from the New York Craig's List Men for Men section. Keyword search: married

13. You have a point
but here there are no ads. There are no former male lovers claiming Bush broke their hearts, there are no checks to male hustlers, there is nothing save a friendship with Ashe.

14. I think people claim Bush is gay to make themselves feel better
It's like when the school counselor tells you your bully is just mean because he has repressed self-esteem issues. Is this true? Who knows, you could just be a little weanie who is fun to get a laugh out of.

16. once upon a time i took up a poetry class...whereupon, in addition to
writing our own poetry, we had to read the poems of other poets ...
there was a poet whose first name was John (I can't recall the last name) who... after twenty plus years of marriage and several children admitted to himself, his wife and his children that he was in love with another MAN. His poems were about that process. So the point I am trying to make here...don't for once think that a marriage, a wife, children, and impregnation of women all spell HETEROSEXUALITY... sometimes it doesn't, as in the case of this poet named John ...PLUS, according to CARL JUNG each of us carries the potential inisde of us to fall in love with a person of the same sex ... and also according to JUNG those who fight homosexuality the most happen to be those people who have not come to terms with that reality within themselves...shocking as it may be.
