:bounce: this is a hate letter I sent to this Parliment Member from BC, a real conservative idiot, and I forwarded it to all of the local papers near him including the Vancouver Sun :evilgrin:

Dear PM Stockwell Day,

My whole family is from Kelowna, BC. We think a little more about skiing and hunting than American Missile defense. But I've been reading the paper and something you said struck me as odd and extremely unprofessional.

"These missiles are coming in at 4 kilometers ( 2.5 miles) a second, and if the president calls the 1-800 line and gets: `Press 1 if you want English, press 2 if you want French, press 0 if nobody's there ...' I mean, it's crazy."

That's some very funny material, you could join such great comedians as Ann Coulter and Pat Buchanan on Fox News. What I don't understand is: Would you really turn over Canadian airspace to the hands of a country that has done nothing short of turned its back on the Geneva Convention?

I suggest you do your homework on this Mr. Day. You will see that the United States Missile Defense doesn't actually work. You'll find that at every level it is flawed technology and by relying on that technology you jeopardize Canadian sovereignty. Don't you realize that if you take Canada out of the missile defense decision making process it could cost Canadian lives? What happens if there is a launch from North Korea, the American Missile Defense Program fails like its been doing consistently since the mid '80s, and the North Korean missiles fall short of their target hitting the town of Penticton in YOUR district? You may scoff at this notion now, but it's far more likely to happen than the American president calling the 1-800 line for the whole of Canada. Though I wouldn't put it past him.

Sir, I'm sure that what you said was in jest, just off the cuff. I hope that your ultimate decision on this is NOT based on your opposition to the current Liberal party in power. I hope your decision isn't just "off the cuff". Your obligation is to Canada and Canada alone. By re-enforcing your position by putting down the very country you represent is both insulting and a disgrace to your office.

I suggest an immediate retraction and a statement regarding your position on this issue based on something other than your smug biased rhetorical opinion.

Not joining missile defense will allow the Innu & the Inuit to SUE SOMEBODY'S ASS when the missile get shot down over the Arctic (all missiles from Russia, Korea, China, Iran will fly over the North Pole - or did you not know this? It is the shortest way to fly). Course if a few of those suckers get blown up a mile in the sky over Baffin Island... then 'global warming' will have a whole “other” meaning as that ice melts. HOT HOT HOT! Lake water runs out to the sea so the HOT Water will go the way of the Atlantic. Virginia Beech will then be for Geiger-counters.
